The ritual was altered to ensure the a SPECIFIC stab-ee (Sal) would be unharmed, the fact that the stab-ee became the racoon instead of Sal is what jacked up the riual in the first place. Thus, the ever important "stab-ee does not die" clause may not have functioned either. Then again I could be misunderstanding things, after all I've been wrong ONCE before.
