Think she means "ravish" :P

Suffice to say, Raque’falicoona is not exactly the best at knowing what the words she's using actually mean.

TagalongDT, 2011-02-10 08:34:54 UTC

Yeaaah, poor Raque. She hasn't really got a great grasp on grammar, propriety or sanity. And as a quick note for those reading, keep in mind that we are a parody comic and are only making fun of stories that think this kinda "No means yes and means try harder" thing is sexy. Which it's really not. Also, being a stalker isn't sexy *cough*lookingatyou,Twilight*cough*. So yes. Parody. ^_^

So... the truth comes out... Racoon Girl is trying to take over the throne by bearing a child that looks like the king. The resulting scandal will cause the king and queen to resign in disgrace and she (as a "regent" for her son) will rule. Also, even knowing this is a parody, I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable.

clubtail, 2011-02-10 17:30:03 UTC

@Clubtail. To be perfectly honest, you should be feeling a little uncomfortable. The scene is intentionally written to be off putting, and if Tria and I have done our jobs at describing properly, a lot of that should bleed over to the reader. Of course the other half of our jobs is making sure you're all laughing, so I hope you can see the humor in the situation as well.

t seems that Raque is a lil needy heh. the last panel is my favorite. shes so confused xD

The funny part is how Elly is trying to cover himself. Is he even aware that he is dressed?

@ Meh: You're a couple comics late to warn of it's approach, but just in time to sing the duet with Captain Obvious.

Passerby, 2011-02-11 21:12:05 UTC

I'm amazed Elly hasn't realized that she recognized him as a guy without being prompted. You'd think that would be a turn-on for him. Also, her disappointment is so evident in that last panel... and it appears that she has some... issues... to put it politely. Not so much the being attracted to Elator as, well, her method of showing it.

Shay, 2011-02-12 04:43:10 UTC

@Shay Yes, that is probably something creepy. I bet that when Elly tells the crew what happened....there will be some very interesting events...

StreetBoyWill, 2011-02-15 05:34:18 UTC

Anyone get the feeling that Elly has some really good reason for avoiding girls that like him (even if they are obsessed in a kind of creepy way) and that that something is so horrible he makes sure that he avoids it and makes sure that it never comes up in a conversation?

Randomwolfmonster, 2011-05-22 21:16:22 UTC

I'd respect Elly's self-control, if it weren't for the fact that he's terrified out of his mind.

I thought it was quite natural that the raccoon-girl would immediately know Elator was male: he *looks* feminine, especially judging by such superficial characteristics as hair; he wouldn't *smell* feminine at all. I'd venture a guess that more mammal species use scent than sight as their primary modality. Conversely, however, walking upright puts the eyes into a more advantageous position and the nose into a less advantageous position, suggesting that Raque'falicoona's sense of smell wouldn't be orders of magnitude better than a human's. Contrariwise, this line of reasoning is based on evolutionary principles, confidence in which should be shaken by the appearance of chimeras of such unrelated creatures as raccoons and primates, or cats and primates. Considering that the comic has not, thus far, made a habit of pointing out the nature of our animal hybrids, I'm inclined to conclude that Raque'falicoona's recognition of Elator's sex has more to do with his mentioned resemblance to the king than his intoxicating, raccoon-attracting scent.
